New Executive Board officially takes office
On Wednesday, 1 June, Geert ten Dam and Karen Maex officially took office as president of the Executive Board of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), and rector magnificus of the UvA and member of the UvA-AUAS Executive Board respectively.
Both succeed Dymph van den Boom, who stepped down as rector magnificus and acting president this past Tuesday. Van den Boom will formally say goodbye to the UvA community during the university’s Dies Natalis on 9 January, 2017.

The Supervisory Board is in the process of recruiting an interim member for the Executive Board. The new member will be responsible for the financial policy of the AUAS. This position is expected to be filled soon. Until such time that an appointment is made, AUAS financial policy will be managed by Huib de Jong.
