Mindfulness techniques can be very helpful in dealing with stress and can help reduce negative thinking. The techniques can also help you improve your focus, concentration and thinking skills. You will be learning a more accepting and compassionate way to look at your thoughts and feelings.

In these sessions, you will  practice a variety of techniques based on mindfulness and cognitive therapy. These exercises and techniques can help relieve built-up tension, rumination, problems with concentration and fear of failure. During the sessions, we will discuss how to use these techniques. This way, you will learn how to care better for yourself during stressful situations and live a more well-balanced (student) life.

Date and time

The walk-in hour is offered by the Student psychologists of UvA Student Services, and takes place every first Monday of the month, from 16:30-17:30 (with the exception of the summer period and on national holidays).
