'My name’s Gina Lovett and I am from Dublin. After a meandering journey, I realised that environment was where I wanted, needed, to put my energy. During this time, my desire to learn more about environmental issues became harder to dismiss, and after 17 years in London, I moved to Amsterdam to start Environmental Geography at UvA.'
Joyeeta Gupta is the track coordinator of Human Geography.
Joyeeta is professor of environment and development in the global south at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) of the University of Amsterdam and UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in Delft.
'In this track the focus will be on how environmental issues fit into the development paradigms and practices of society in different parts of the world; how challenges like climate change, land grabbing, water pollution and loss of biodiversity can affect the very well-being of modern societies.'
