The Summer Programmes Office is introducing a new scholarship for students of any nationality who are the first in their family to attend university. These full-tuition fee waiver scholarships are designed to enable people to come study one of our programmes, who would not otherwise have the opportunity due to financial constraints.
Applicants must be the first person in their family to have the opportunity to attend university and who do not have the financial means to attend our summer programmes without a scholarship. Our definition of first generation scholar is someone who's parents have not undertaken university/community college education after high school. The scholarship is only eligible for the programmes listed below. Applicants for these scholarships must download, fill out, and sign the delcaration of eligibility. Your application is incomplete without this document.
To be announced as soon as possible, and no later than 1 December 2019.
Please apply by the regular admissions deadline per programme. You can find this on the first page of the sub-sites for each participating programme.
Full tuition fee waiver. This scholarship does not include housing fees, travel to or from Amsterdam, nor spending money while attending the programme.
When applying via the online application system on our website, please indicate this opportunity in the scholarship field. In addition, please expand on the required personal statement (visit the How to apply page on each programme website for more details) to include a motivation for why this scholarship and programme would benefit you academically, professionally, and/or personally. Be sure to attach the completed declaration of eligibility as the final page of your letter of motivation.
If you have any questions about eligibility requirements, or about this scholarship in general, please email email@example.com.
